I grew up in Southport.
I went to kindergarten here. Then primary school, high school and later university. Gallaghers have worked, lived and played here for almost half a century in varying capacities. Some of you (or your children) probably sat in my lectures and tutorials at Griffith University or more recently in the training courses or seminars I have been facilitating around the Gold Coast. Or we have spoken about how to navigate the NDIS through our family business Own 2 Feet Pty Ltd.
My family has been part of the fabric of Southport for almost 50 years. The generosity of my parents and others like them helped build solid foundations for some of the division's community and sporting groups such as Southport Tigers, Parkwood Sharks and many other smaller clubs. We have been involved in the birth of some iconic Gold Coast businesses such as the Pacific Hotel, the Benowa Tavern, The Gold Coast Giants, the Helensvale Tavern and the Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle.
My dedication to the electorate has been demonstrated. I figure if I keep knocking and knocking, sooner or later "they" will let me in to help the people of the Gold Coast.
I wish I could promise to fix everything for everyone but I cannot. I will the best I can to get you answers and solutions to the troubles you encounter navigating the system.
I wish I could tell everyone what they want to hear instead of the truth as I see it but that would make me dishonest and fake.....2 things I can't stand in others.
If I hold an opinion contrary to yours - let's talk. Perhaps I am misinformed or lack insight and you may be the right person to set me straight!
Or we could just have a darn good chat and agree to disagree!

- I support Southport being restored to its former glory. How? With your help.
- I support small businesses staying and coming into the division
- I support our green spaces hosting more events that are inclusive
- I support giving local businesses and tradespeople more work not outsourcing millions of dollar of work/funding/projects to overseas companies
- I would like us to work towards ensuring that all new buildings are environmentally sound................like ensuring they all have solar power and water tanks to start with....then lets talk about cradle to cradle builds and zero emission buildings.
